The Caledon Museum annually celebrates Freedom Day by having a Freedom Walk in the Caledon Wildflower Garden.

This year’s walk, in partnership with the Caledon Library, took place on Friday 26 April.

Marlon Sauls, Educational Officer of the Caledon Museum, says: “This community project seeks to foster greater social cohesion, community building and a shared community identity, to strive as a community for inclusive socio-economic development, while ensuring that we combat scourges such as all forms of discrimination and all related intolerances as well as gender-based violence.”

This year the group walked to the well-known Venster rock formation, while a few brave ones walked all the way to the old kraal. The group included museum and library staff, members of the Caledon Ratepayers Association, directors of Beyond Black Mountain and Caledon Casino Hotel & Spa management as well as members of the public.
