They did it again. Celebrating excellence in traditional cheese making, Klein River Cheese is proud for once again being multiple winners at the 2023 South African Dairy Championships.
Klein River Cheese has achieved an unbroken streak of gold medals for 23 years across their catalogue, with Klein River Gruberg chieving gold in 15 of the last 23 years. This year, the team won the following awards: Gruberg Mature (gold); Danbo (gold); Overberg exclusive to Woolworths (gold); Gruberg Vintage (silver); Parmesan (silver); Havarti (silver); Stanford (silver); Oak Smoked Stanford exclusive to Woolworths (silver); Gruberg Young (bronze); the new Milkwood Coast Original (bronze) and Nugget with Dried Olive & Grape Rub exclusive to Babylonstoren.
Klein River Cheese also achieved a different milestone last month by becoming the first cheese from South Africa to be available in the USA. Working closely with a leading distributor, Gruberg Mature is now being enjoyed at top restaurants and speciality food retailers.
