To celebrate Love your Library month the Caledon library held a competition for library members to write a short piece about why they love their library.
Dr. Marilyn Holloway was the independent judge and had the pleasurable task of reading through all the entries and deciding on the winning entry, which was the one submitted by Elmarie Lahoud.
Elmarie is an avid reader and has been a member of the Caledon library since 2018. Her winning entry read: “Dear Caledon library, I love you because it’s my very happy place! I walk away from the world into an orderly and creative world of fantasy and fiction. I have the most friendly guides welcoming and helping me. Long live this valuable and wonderful gem in our town!”
Gerhard van Wyk of the library said: “We are overjoyed by the amount of entries received, each one creative and inspiring in its own unique way.”
Elmarie’s prize was a hamper containing a variety of books.
