Bodyboarding will be showcased to the Hermanus community when the Cape Winelands Bodyboarding team hosts a free clinic at Voëlklip on 28 February at 09:00.
The clinic, part of a two-venue initiative that also includes Strand Beach on 21 February, offers local residents and visitors the opportunity to learn from experienced bodyboarders while enjoying the pristine conditions that make Hermanus a premier coastal destination.
Cape Winelands Bodyboarding (CWB), in partnership with The Boogie Shack, will provide expert instruction suitable for all skill levels. The event is open to the public and promises to introduce newcomers to the exciting water sport while helping experienced riders refine their techniques.
Voëlklip provides an ideal setting for the clinic with its protected bay offering consistent waves suitable for beginners while still challenging enough for more advanced participants. The beach’s accessibility and excellent facilities make it perfect for hosting such community events.
The clinic is supported by major industry sponsors including Rip Curl, Stealth, Coral and Storm, with backing from the South African Bodyboarding Association (SABA). It highlights the professional calibre of instruction participants can expect. Participants are advised to arrive early to secure equipment and receive safety briefings.
All ages and abilities are welcome to join this exciting opportunity to experience the thrill of riding waves in one of the Western Cape’s most beautiful coastal settings.
