A 34-year-old man was arrested after he was found in possession of 60 7.65 mm rounds, one 9 mm round and a magazine. Sergeant Tembi Gweyi, Caledon police spokesperson, reports that the suspect was arrested on Tuesday 16 August after members of the Overberg Highway Patrol followed up information about a person in Caledon who was allegedly illegally in possession of ammunition. The officers responded to the address in Vlei View, Caledon where they confiscated the magazine and ammunition. The suspect appeared in the Caledon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 17 August on a charge of the illegal possession of ammunition.
