On the Youth Day programme are five-a-side soccer matches, netball and basketball. DJs spinning the decks will add to the festive air with their music. The fun will kick off at 09:00 and to enter a team costs R200. Vuyisani Mahela, director of SportMax, which organised the day with the assistance of the Rotary Club and Overstrand Municipality, says the aim is to engage the youth in activities that will draw them away from risky possibilities such as substance abuse, alcohol and crime.
