Water restrictions have been lifted with immediate effect in Greater Hermanus and Kleinmond.
This was announced at a special Council meeting on 3 November. However, Overstrand Executive Mayor, Dr Annelie Rabie urges residents and businesses to continue using water sparingly.
“The quality of water from the De Bos Dam has improved and the Preekstoel Water Treatment Works is able to cope with the current demand,” said the municipal manager, Dean O’Neill. “The water services bylaw clause 42(1)(f) will remain in place, which requires that no irrigation with municipal water take place from 09:00 to 17:00 daily.”
