For “Teen Suicide Prevention Week” the Greyton Library, in collaboration with various organisations such as the Overberg Education District, Correctional Services of Caledon and Helderstroom and the Lighthouse Clinic, held an awareness campaign on Wednesday 21 February at the Emil Weder High School in Genadendal.

Tasneem Swart (pictured on the left, in front) of Greyton Library said the teens were interacted with in various ways, which was a great experience and the campaign was very successful in terms of bringing home the seriousness of this issue. In a statement the library said: “They say it takes a village to raise a child, but let’s rephrase and say it takes a village to raise, protect, love and encourage a child.”
