You can expect an action-packed and adrenaline-pumping day on Sunday 27 October when the Overberg BMX Club hosts the Western Cape Championships in Hermanus.
Approximately 100 of the Cape’s top riders will put their skills to the test on the local track. The Overberg BMX club is situated behind Hermanus High School at the Hermanus Sports Club.
Activities will start at 09:00, with boys and girls tuning their bikes and familiarising themselves with the course. Racing begins at 10:20 and entry is free for spectators.
Riders from as far away as Knysna will converge in Hermanus, all vying for the coveted top spot on the podium. Classes range from ages 5 to over 50 years old, ensuring thrilling competition for everyone.
Overstrand Executive Mayor Dr Annelie Rabie shared her pride in the club’s role in the local BMX scene, highlighting their dedication to developing younger talent. “We can’t wait to see Overstrand’s riders in action,” she stated.
Rabie encouraged the whole community to come and support the riders and enjoy the event.
