Next week all roads in the agricultural sector lead to the Overberg for the Nampo Cape 2025 event, held from 10 – 13 September in Bredasdorp.
Nampo Cape is the Western Cape’s premier agricultural expo, offering live machinery demonstrations, expert speaker sessions, innovative agri-tech, livestock exhibits and even helicopter rides. This year’s event focuses on the theme “Smart Technology for Efficient Resource Management”.
The Overberg District Municipality invites old and young and people from all walks of life to this event that boasts a multitude of exhibitions, demonstrations, educational talks and entertainment for all.
“Known as South Africa’s bread basket, the Overberg plays a vital role in feeding the nation” said a spokesperson for the district municipality, “and we can’t wait to share our story with you!
“Find our stand at the Expo and discover more about our contributions to agriculture and food security, opportunities for collaboration and innovation in the Overberg and our wider tourism and service sector offerings. Come and explore, connect and experience the best our region has to offer.”
The event at Bredasdorp Park also features expert speaker sessions, the latest in agri-tech and innovation and sporting spectacles, including tent pegging. On-site accommodation is also available.
You can discover how smart technology can transform farming, with a focus on precision irrigation, AI and renewable energy solutions. The Sanlam Women’s Morning events offer a wide range of talks and performances, with something new and exciting every day.
On Wednesday 10 September the Women’s Morning starts at 09:00 with Francois Boyce (Hoezit Samelewing), followed by Sylvia Nel’s talk titled My Storie uit die Boesmanland and Marinda Engelbrecht’s Huiskos uit die Boesmanland cooking demonstration. Bok van Blerk’s performance at 11:30 will end off the day’s programme.

Nature lovers can also enjoy the beautiful floral arrangements showcased in the Voermall Hall. The Canola Farmers Day event will be held from 10:00 to 12:00 on Thursday 11 September. This event is dedicated to canola farming, featuring the latest insights and proven best practices.
The kids’ programme includes exciting activities like the SA Tentpegging Invitational Championship, Boerboel dog demonstrations and pony rides from 09:00 to 17:00 every day. A designated children’s play area is also available for the younger kids.
