KUGOMPO CITY – The Hawks have intensified their investigation into an alleged human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation network operating in KuGompo City, while appealing to the public for assistance in locating a key person of interest, 30-year-old Yonela Sapepa.

According to Hawks spokesperson Warrant Officer Ndiphiwe Mhlakuvana, Sapepa is believed to possess information of significant value in relation to the matter.

Mhlakuvana said Sapepa was reportedly last seen in various places within the province, including KuGompo City, Mthatha and Gqeberha.

“As the investigation continues to unfold, Sapepa has been identified as a person who may assist investigators in unlocking critical aspects of the investigation and advancing the pursuit of justice for potential victims affected by the alleged criminal enterprise.

“The Hawks therefore call upon the individual to present herself at the nearest police station or contact investigators directly.

“Community members, relatives, associates and any person with information concerning her whereabouts are further encouraged to cooperate with law enforcement authorities,” he said.

“Anyone with credible information regarding the whereabouts of Sapepa is requested to urgently contact investigating officers Lieutenant Colonel Nangamso Ndawule at 071 351 7386 and Sergeant Mluleki Dibela at 082 779 7134, or alternatively provide information anonymously through the Crime Stop number 08600 10111.”
