Getting to Stormers vs Cardiff URC playoff: Shuttles, parking and road closures


The DHL Stormers take on Cardiff in the United Rugby Championship (URC) quarterfinals at DHL Cape Town Stadium on Saturday 30 May, with around 30 000 supporters expected to pack the stands for the club’s first home playoff match since 2023.

With a large crowd anticipated, spectators are urged to plan their journey to the stadium in advance.

Match details

The game kicks off at 15:30, with gates opening at 12:30. The Stormers will be counting on a packed and vocal home crowd as they look to secure a third URC semifinal appearance.

Getting there

Ticket holders can make use of a free MyCiTi shuttle service, transporting spectators to the stadium from the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), Civic Centre Station and Thibault Square Station. The shuttle will start operating from 12:00, with the last bus leaving the Green Point precinct at 19:30.

Parking

For those driving into the city centre, the City of Cape Town will open its parking areas for ticket holders from 11:30. The parking bays, accessible from Hertzog Boulevard incoming and on Civic Avenue, will be available on a first-come, first-served basis and will close at 21:00.

Paid parking is also available at the Parkalot on Jack Craig Street and at Harbour Arch on Harbour Arch Boulevard. Off-street parking in the CBD is free from 13:00 on Saturdays.

Road impacts

Residents and motorists are advised that Fritz Sonnenberg Road, Stephan Way, Vlei Road and Granger Bay Boulevard will be affected from 06:00 until after the game.
