Members of Cloetesville police recently arrested several suspects for the possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition respectively. On Wednesday (7 August) at about 08:50 officers pursued information they received from the public about a firearm at a premises in Hoek Street, Cloetesville. The officers immediately operationalised the information and searched the premises where they found a .38 Special revolver and ammunition hidden under a couch. A man (35) was arrested for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. He will appear in the Stellenbosch Magistrates’ Court once charged.
