The Dirtopia Trail Centre has two evening adventures planned at Muratie Wine Estate near Stellenbosch this month: the Sunset to Full Moon Hike and the Halloween Forest Night Trail Run.

The hike, on Sunday 25 October, follows a marked 3,5 km circular trail to a lookout with sweeping Winelands views.

Take a picnic and watch the sunset over Table Mountain and moon rise over Simonsberg. Muratie wines will be available to purchase at the lookout.

Participants are urged to arrive between 17:15 and 18:00, and take a headlamp, walking shoes and a warm jacket.

Entry costs R175 for adults and R85 for children under 10. Booking is essential.

Dress up for trail

On Saturday 31 October the Halloween Forest Night Trail Run, presented by Sportsmans Warehouse, brings costumes, spooky forest trails and live music by Akkedis.

The 10 km starts at 19:15 and the 5 km at 19:30, with walkers and children welcome. Finishers receive a Halloween medal, with costume and lucky-draw prizes adding to the fun.

Pre-entry costs R185 for 5 km, R225 for 10 km and R90 for children. Pre-entries close on Thurday 29 October.
