The annual A21’s 10th Walk For Freedom took place in Stellenbosch on Saturday (19 October). Participants took part in the walk aimed at shining a spotlight on human trafficking. This year locals carried posters in isiXhosa and Afrikaans, and the walk included some of the most vulnerable community members on farms and informal settlements that statistically fall victim to trafficking. The walkers were supported by the Stellenbosch Traffic Department, the Stellenbosch GBV Centre and the local ACVV. Co-hosts Bavani Naicker and Sarah Giles, both students of Stellenbosch University, were the Walk Captains for 2024. Visit www.a21.org for more information about human trafficking.
