Stellenbosch police are asking the community for assistance after a murder on Monday (23 February) in Nkanini, Khayamandi.

According to police, members received a complaint of shooting in Nkanini on Monday around 11:35. On their arrival they were given directions to where shooting occurred.

Pro Sec Security officers were on the scene and as well as bystanders who stated they heard gun shots.

The body of an unknown woman was lying on the ground with one bullet wound to the upper body. She was already dead when police arrived on the scene.

No arrests have yet been made and police are asking anyone with information to contact Stellenbosch police on 021 809 5012/15.
