The Stellenbosch Local Football Association (LFA) continues to make an impact on football development, with strong representation at regional level following the recent election of the Safa Cape Winelands leadership.
Three of the new Safa Cape Winelands executive committee members hail from the Stellenbosch LFA.
According to the local LFA, the appointments highlight not only individual achievement, but also the strength of leadership, governance and institutional capacity that has been cultivated within the Stellenbosch football fraternity over the years.
George Rhoda was chosen as Safa Cape Winelands president, with Waldo Christians as one of three vice-presidents and Keenan Jacobs as newly elected treasurer general.
The leadership roles position Stellenbosch LFA at the forefront of soccer administration in the region.
The strength of Stellenbosch LFA is also reflected on the field of play.

The association currently has nine club members competing in the men’s regional league which has 24 teams, showcasing the competitiveness and development depth within the Stellenbosch football ecosystem.
Rhoda brings with him over five years of leadership as head of the Stellenbosch LFA. He has been instrumental in stabilising governance structures, strengthening relationships with member clubs and promoting unity within the local soccer ecosystem.
In his new role, he carries with him valuable experience in institutional leadership, conflict resolution and long-term strategic planning.
For his part, Christians has played a critical role in the Stellenbosch LFA, contributing both administratively and strategically to the growth.
As deputy-president of Safa Cape Winelands, he brings a strong combination of football knowledge, governance experience and the ability to bridge gaps between policy and implementation.
Jacobs is expected to continue his critical expertise in financial oversight, risk management and sustainable resource allocation.
Stellenbosch LFA congratulated all three on their appointments and wished them success in their respective roles.
