Three Paul Roos Gymnasium old boys participated in the inaugural Under-20 Rugby Championship on the Sunshine Coast of Australia from Thursday 2 to Sunday 12 May. Mbasa Maqubela (matric 2021, pictured), Reno Hirst (matric 2022), and Jurenzo Julius (matric 2022) were part of the South African under-20 team to claim second place in the competition, which also featured eventual champions New Zealand as well as Argentina and Australia. Julius was also the vice-captain of the team.
