Emma Forbes, a Grade 12 learner at Rhenish Girls’ High, flew to Pretoria two weeks ago to complete her Shodan black belt karate grading. Emma passed her grading and is now officially a Sensei. With Emma is Sensei Laurent Gaston Bellegarde – 6th Dan and member of the Saska shihan-kai. Emma travelled to world championships in 2018 in Scotland and in 2019 in Slovakia with him. They were due to go to the 2020 world championships in Poland but these were cancelled due to Covid-19.Foto:
