Get ready for a proper “Saffrican” consert complete with nostalgia, parody and all the lekker tunes you forgot you loved at the Daisy Jones Bar at Summerhill Estate outside Stellenbosch on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 August.
It’s Not Inside, It’s… is a high-energy concert to South African chart toppers of the ’70s and early ’80s, with a cheeky nod to the TV ads of the time. Expect legendary hits such as “Hasie Hoekom is Jou Stert So Kort”, “Pretty Belinda”, “Clap Your Hands and Stamp Your Feet”, “Save Me” by Clout, “Paradise Road”, “Timothy” and plenty more old favourites. It will be performed by the Theatrix Singers at 20:00 on both nights.
The show blends powerful vocals, musical parody and lots of laugh-out-loud comedy, all brought to life with dazzling lights, superb sound and some unforgettable ’70s flair.
Expect safari suits, platform shoes, crimplene mini-dresses, long socks (with combs) and, of course, hot pants!
