One of the Cape’s most beloved fundraising events will again take place on Table Mountain on Saturday 10 May.
The Cableway Charity Challenge 2025, hosted by Table Mountain Aerial Cableway (TMACC), calls on the public to be a part of the action by cheering on participants, pledging your support through generous donations, and enjoying a day on the mountain.
On the day, individual athletes, schools and corporate teams will hike Platteklip Gorge as many times as possible between sunrise and sunset, to raise funds for four beneficiaries: Ubuntu Football, Funda Kunye, Volunteer Wildfire Services (VWS) and Wilderness Search and Rescue (WSAR).
Since its inception in 2009, the event has raised millions for local charities.
TMACC is urging the public to support participants as they strive to reach the R1 million fundraising goal on the day.
“The Cableway Charity Challenge is a highlight on the city’s trail running calendar,” said Selma Hercules.
The public can show your support by pledging funds to a participant of the challenge, making a general donation, or simply joining in the excitement on the day.
