Vigilant policing reaped rewards on Monday 1 September, when Cloetesville police officers were patrolling Lang Street around 14:30. At the bridge near Smartie Town, the officers spotted three men and saw one throw something into the surrounding grass. The officers approached, searched the area and found a firearm with one cartridge. The man was arrested and charged with possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition.
