On Friday 28 August I was nearly run off the road by a white bakkie recklessly breaking traffic rules as I was waiting to cross Helshoogte Road into La Colline Road, a high accident area.
I then drove behind this vehicle into town, where the driver proceeded to double-park on a red line while a passenger exited and went to Stellenbosch Town Hall. I later learnt that the event taking place at the town hall was a Stellenbosch Municipality’s Women’s Month staff celebration.
Traffic rules are for everyone, but I would think our elected officials would set an example, especially with elections coming up.
