In the saddle from Franschhoek to Hermanus

Team Fairtree DP World Cannondale participated in the 164 km Race to the Sea, from Franschhoek to Hermanus, on Saturday 6 September. The local mountain-biking team comprised Luyanda Tobigunya, Kusaselihle Ngidi, Kwazi Mbhamali, Ziandro Jordaan (pictured), Ethan Michaels, Thembela Lukalo, Winile Majavu and Yomelela Mfazwe. According to team manager Chris Norton, the gruelling endurance race is a great test of character and determination. “This was a fantastic way to kick-off the racing season again, so that our team can build endurance going into the big team races and get time in the saddle; particularly pleasing was the ladies’ excellent results – 16th and 17th in their category – building into Wines2Whales,” he said. This coming weekend, the riders will again be in action in the Ford Trailseeker race in Wellington.
