On Saturday evening (19 April) the Stellenbosch Municipality’s Rapid Response Unit (RRU) responded to a shooting complaint in Klapmuts. During a stop-and-search operation, officers spotted two suspicious-looking individuals who attempted to flee in Bell Street. They were searched and were found in possession op tik, a large quantity of Mandrax tablets and cash. The suspects were arrested and charged with possession of and dealing in drugs by Klapmuts police.
