Caleb clinches ‘Oscar’

Young Stellenbosch actor Caleb Payne scooped a Young Artist Academy Award (Youth Oscar) in Los Angeles, California this past weekend. The 11-year-old was nominated in the category Feature Film Leading Youth Artist for his role as Jet in the 2021 Netflix film Good Life Payne, and is the first South African actor nominated for the award (“Young actor gets ‘Youth Oscar’ nomination”, Eikestadnuus, 18 August).
