St Andrew's School in Bloemfontein excels in multiple sports, competing nationally in soccer, hockey, squash, rugby, and athletics this weekend.
Saints’ sportsmen are representing their school in several tournaments.

The St Andrew’s School in Bloemfontein is making waves on the national sporting stage by proudly
flying the Free State flag in golf, squash, cricket, and hockey.

With a jam-packed weekend ahead, these school athletes are on the move across South Africa:

  • From 7 to 9 August, the first soccer team will be in Johannesburg to compete in the prestigious St David’s Challenge Cup.
  • The school’s first hockey team will compete against the country’s best at the Top Schools Hockey Festival.
  • The first squash team travels to Pietermaritzburg for the elite Top Schools Squash Tournament.

Also in action this weekend, is the first rugby team who will play against the Staatspresident Swart High School in Brandfort in the School League semifinals, whilst the U14A team prepares to play
against the Fichardtpark High School in a clash of grit and skill. The U13 hockey team will represent the school in the dynamic Guschki’s 5’s Tournament at Grey College.

There will also be 17 track and field athletes competing at the Free State Championships this Saturday. The first golf team is currently at the Nationals in Stellenbosch – representing the Free State as the
Top Golf School.

Earlier this year, St Andrew’s also claimed the title of Top Cricket School in the Free State, adding
to their growing list of accolades.
