A horseback rider of the Eunice High School, Kiara Wolmarans (Gr. 10), did exceptionally well at the 2026 South African National Saddlebred and World Open Air Championships that was held during the Bloem Show from 20 to 25 April.

This event attracts top riders from across the country.

Kiara achieved the following top awards:

■ SA Grand Champion Park Horse presented by a junior exhibitor;

■ SA Reserve Grand Champion Five-Gaited Horse presented by a junior exhibitor; and

■ SA Grand Champion Five-Gaited Pleasure Horse (U18).

She also received additional achievements, such as:

■ SA Champion Park Horse (U16);

■ Reserve SA Champion Three-Gaited Pleasure Horse (U18);

■ SA Champion Five-Gaited Horse (U16); and

■ SA Champion Five-Gaited Pleasure Horse (U18).
