The officials from the institutions were at the school on Friday (5 March) to hand over the products. <\/p>\n
\u201cCovid-19 has left a huge void that has to be filled by projects such as these. It is also important to uplift women and in particular those from disadvantaged communities such as Worcester. Skills development programmes and personal development is crucial in the uplifting of our communities,\u201d said Igshaan Hugo from Cobra Watertech. <\/p>\n
March marks National Water Month, which is a flagship project of the department of water and sanitation. It is also the month in which international women\u2019s month is commemorated. <\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a good joint initiative to show how government, the private sector and civil society can work together for the betterment of the community. Women and girls are the future. This is not just a slogan, but girls truly possess the ability to develop communities,\u201d said acting head of the department of water and sanitation, Boniswa Hene. <\/p>\n
The leadership of Victoria Primary school was elated with the donation of the products especially because of the surrounding communities struggling with sanitary necessities and hygiene. <\/p>\n
