The new Junior Town Council (JTC) is ready to serve its community after councillors took their oaths at an inaugural event on Friday 4 March.<\/p>\n
The council has 32 members for the 2022-\u201923 year who are from Pioneer School and Vusizwe Secondary School.<\/p>\n
The inauguration of the new council took place at Gymnasium school hall, where parents and teachers proudly witnessed their children entering their new leadership roles.<\/p>\n
The speaker on the evening, Eurica Beukes, subject adviser for Life Orientation at the Cape Winelands Education District, mentioned to the newly elected council that success is a team effort.<\/p>\n
She said it should be their mindset for the coming year when they tackle projects.<\/p>\n
Pastor Carol Arries addressed the young leaders with a verse from the Bible, Ephesians 4 verse 1, which says \u201cact worthy of the calling with which you were called\u201d as well as verse 3 which reads \u201cbe eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.\u201d<\/p>\n
Junior Councillors Laxmini Patel (Gymnasium) and Mikaylin Pietersen (Worcester Secondary School) were elected the new Chipros and Worcester Junior Mayor and Junior Speaker, respectively. <\/p>\n
The new executive members of the 2022 JTC are Nafeesah Adams (Montana), Carla Relling (HTS Drostdy) and Monique du Toit (HTS Drostdy). <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
