Pioneer School for the visually impaired is thrilled to have received a donation to assist their students advance their technology skills.<\/p>\n
The donation handover opened a new door of opportunities for the learners of Pioneer School.<\/p>\n
The school received R94 000 worth of technology equipment which comprises 10 laptops, 10 laptop bags and headphones to assist the low-vision students with familiarising themselves with laptops.<\/p>\n
The donation came from Boland Nomads and was done through the national Andrew Mentis Endowment Fund (AMEF). <\/p>\n
According to Elizma Berlyn, the school\u2019s marketer, Boland Nomads is an organisation that hosts golf days in a quest to assist schools as well as non-profit organisations in need of funds.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe applied to be a beneficiary and we were approved.\u201d<\/p>\n
Speaking on what the donation means to the schools and learners she says: \u201cThe learners and teachers are so excited as this opens a new world of opportunities and gives our learners the same privileges as learners in main- stream schools.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
