Parents from Worcester can be relieved when it comes to the pressure of finding high schools for their children.<\/p>\n
Lanner House Independent School is now added to the list of schools, which can accommodate learners from age 2 right up to matric.<\/p>\n
Davin Lehy, principal of the school, says: \u201cWe feel excited that Lanner House offers the whole package. Your child can receive their entire school education in one place, where people get to grow as a family.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added the transition to Grade 12 started at the beginning of the 2021 academic year.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith our high school model we are able to move directly into a multi-grade classroom from the first day, meaning we are already capable of up to Grade 12 and post-matric.\u201d<\/p>\n
The planning of this transition started in 2019, the goal being to be able to accommodate learners by March 2020.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat is when we arranged our first open evening with a lot of positive interest,\u201d Lehy said.<\/p>\n
The school ensured the correct infrastructure was in place before taking on new grades. It has a long-term plan of slowly upgrading and building more classes to fit many plans for the school.<\/p>\n
Regarding what the addition of a new grade means for the school, Lehy says: \u201cThis means our school, boasting a family environment with a high focus on academic quality, is able to offer something no other school in Worcester can offer. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe have an English medium of instruction that follows the South African CAPS curriculum. Many other centres exist too, but many parents do not know these centres are actually illegal and do not fall under the South African Schools Act. <\/p>\n
\u201cAccording to the Act, education should be at a public school, private school or at home (physically at home). Lanner House also ensures we are registered with the Western Cape Education Department and actively seeks the correct legal channels so that your child\u2019s education is prioritised and no issues are found later on.\u201d <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
