Got a camera or smartphone? Love South Africa\u2019s awesome landscapes? Here\u2019s your chance to shine! WWF<\/a> South Africa has just kicked off a super cool photo competition called \u201cOur country, through your lens\u201d that\u2019s all about showing off the incredible natural beauty around us.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s face it \u2013 South Africa is drop-dead gorgeous. We\u2019ve got it all: stunning wildlife, breathtaking landscapes, and natural wonders that\u2019ll make your jaw drop. That\u2019s exactly what WWF wants everyone to capture and celebrate.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TV personality and heartthrob Masego \u2018Maps\u2019 Maponyane is backing the campaign all the way. \u201cLook around us,\u201d Maps says. \u201cWe\u2019ve got fynbos you won\u2019t find anywhere else on the planet, wide open spaces packed with unique critters, oceans full of amazing sea life, and communities with deep connections to nature. But hey, none of this is guaranteed to stick around forever.\u201d
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With climate change throwing punches at our environment, this photo competition comes at just the right time. It\u2019s calling on all South Africans \u2013 whether you\u2019re a pro with a fancy camera or just love snapping pics on your phone \u2013 to document what makes our country so special.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WWF\u2019s top boss, Dr. Morn\u00e9 du Plessis, gets pretty passionate about it: \u201cWe\u2019re choosing to believe things can get better \u2013 not because we\u2019re wearing rose-colored glasses, but because we\u2019re already seeing positive changes happening. From fixing up rivers in the Drakensberg to boosting rhino numbers and creating green jobs for young people, the good stuff is already happening!\u201d
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is all about getting people to hit pause on their busy lives and really see the amazing stuff around them,\u201d he adds. \u201cWhether it\u2019s a kid planting a tree or a gorgeous sunrise over the beach \u2013 if it makes you feel hopeful, snap it and share it!\u201d
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to join the fun:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 When? May 12 \u2013 June 6, 2025 (that\u2019s less than a month, so get snapping!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 How? Super easy! Just post your photo as a comment on WWF South Africa\u2019s Facebook page or upload it to Instagram or TikTok \u2013 tag @WWFSouthAfrica and use #BelieveInBetter.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A panel of photography hotshots \u2013 including an internationally published photojournalist, a humanitarian storyteller, and an award-winning creative director \u2013 will pick 20 standout images. Then from June 9 to 27, everyone gets to vote for their favorites. Winners will be announced on July 2, followed by a public exhibition showcasing the best shots.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The goodies up for grabs:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Main prize: An incredible two-night luxury photo safari for two at Madwaleni River Lodge https:\/\/babanango.com\/madwaleni-river-lodge\/<\/a>in the Babanango Game Reserve<\/a> (KwaZulu-Natal). You\u2019ll get meals, accommodation, and daily game drives with a pro photographer by your side!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Runners-up: Four lucky people will each score a large Recycled Buddy Backpack from Babanango Game Reserve, worth R2 695.
