The Grande Dame of South African cabaret and the French chanson and renowned actress and playwright Daniele Pascal will perform at Kaleidoscope\u2019s (Institute for the Blind) Blind Spot Theatre on Wednesday 28 October. <\/p>\n
With her unique and intimate approach, Pascal has popularised the French chanson to new levels; nowhere is that French tradition better expressed than in her repertoire. Her style is elegant, classic and sophisticated.<\/p>\n
Born and raised in the South of France, she began her career in Canada and USA, performing in musicals, comedies, music theatre and cabarets. <\/p>\n
The veteran entertainer has been an influential force on the South African entertainment circuit since her arrival in South Africa in 1985. <\/p>\n
Always a cultural activist, Pascal continues in her efforts to bridge the cultural divide between France and South Africa. She introduced audiences to various entertainment genres.<\/p>\n
Her unique style and classic joie de vivre are typically Parisian and synonymous with the spirit of romance of the French caf\u00e9 song. <\/p>\n
The platinum artist will take you on a romantic musical journey, delighting with a selection of well-known French songs by Edith Piaf, Cole Porter, Charles Aznavour, Jacques Brel, Nana Mouskouri, Charles Trenet, Mouloudji, as well as songs from her best-selling albums and her own compositions. <\/p>\n
