\u2019n Blinde omroeper van Vallei FM is kwaadwillig deur iemand met \u2019n vol bottel agter teen die nek gegooi terwyl hy en sy seun op pad na McDonalds was, en nou kry hy nie veel hulp van die polisie nie. <\/p>\n

Di\u00e9 voorval plaas nou die kollig op die veiligheid van Blindes en gestremdes in die dorp en die uitdagings wat hulle het om hulp van die polisie te kry.<\/p>\n

Gerhard Trollip s\u00ea hy was Sondag 20 Maart op pad McDonald\u2019s toe met sy seun aan sy linkerhand en sy wit kierie in sy regterhand toe hy padgee vir iemand wat hy gehoor het van agter af hardloop. Hy s\u00ea hy het \u2019n harde hou teen sy nek gevoel toe die onbekende drawwer hom met \u2019n vol plastiekbottel gegooi het.<\/p>\n

Trollip s\u00ea hy weet van menige maal waar Blindes aangeval of beroof is, maar weens \u2019n gebrek aan ooggetuies meld hulle nie \u2019n klagte aan nie. \u201cDit onderstreep vir my \u2019n probleem dat dit vir mense soos ek moeilik is om \u2019n klagte by die polisie aan te meld.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trollip s\u00ea dis goed dat sy kind by was, maar ook vernederend omdat niemand wil h\u00ea so iets moet voor jou kind gebeur nie. Hy het amper vir \u2019n week n\u00e1 die voorval nie sy huis verlaat nie uit vrees dat so iets weer kon gebeur omdat \u2019n verdagte nog nie in hegtenis geneem is nie. \u201c<\/p>\n

\u201d <\/p>\n

Hy s\u00ea dit kan miskien vir ander mense klink na \u2019n \u201cligtelike aanval\u201d, maar s\u00ea as hy niks daaraan doen nie, kan dit gereeld gebeur. Hy verstaan nie hoekom iemand net kwaadwillig \u2019n Blinde met \u2019n plastiekbottel sal gooi nie. <\/p>\n

Sy enigste onmiddellike instink was om sy seun agter hom in te druk omdat hy hom wou beskerm. \u201cEnige ouer maak eers seker sy of haar kind is veilig, en dit is wat ek gedoen het. Ek kon miskien my kierie blindelings geswaai het om die aanvaller by te kom, maar ek het gedink wat as dit meer as een is?\u201d <\/p>\n

Hy het die klagte volgende dag by die polisie aangemeld.<\/p>\n

Niemand is veronderstel om in sulke vrees in hierdie dorp te lewe nie.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIewers moet \u2019n mens as \u2019n Blinde inwoner van die dorp \u2019n streep trek om te s\u00ea genoeg is genoeg. Hierdie mense, wat mense kwaadwillig aanval \u2013 veral Blindes \u2013 moet vervolg word, want wie kom net van agter af en besluit hy gaan jou nou met \u2019n bottel gooi?\u201d<\/p>\n

Hy baklei egter nou \u2019n opdraande stryd met die polisie om die verdagte vas te trek. Hy s\u00ea die diens wat hy van die polisie ontvang het, was uiters teleurstellend. Volgens hom het een van die kameras in die dorp die voorval vasgevang. \u201cEk s\u00ea weer vir baie kan dit onbenullig wees, want hulle kan in hul motors klim en is nie \u2019n teiken nie. Jy kan alleenlik s\u00ea dis onbenullig as jy bereid is dat ek jou blinddoek, \u2019n stok in jou hand druk en jy my paadjie elke dag loop en nie weet wat na jou kant toe kom nie, omdat jy gefokus moet wees op die verkeer en die pad. Jy het nie tyd om te luister vir verdagte voete wat agter jou aankom nie.\u201dV<\/span> Teen Woensdagoggend 30 Maart het Trollip steeds geen antwoord vanaf die polisie gekry nie.
