Dairy producer Lactalis South Africa (LSA) has donated computers to Touws River Primary School as part of the company\u2019s commitment to making a difference in communities. <\/p>\n
The computers were donated at a handover ceremony at the school last week and will give a substantial boost to the school\u2019s technology offering.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Alban Damour, General Manager for Lactalis Southern Africa said; \u201cTechnology is an important key to unlocking solutions to fight poverty and unemployment. Through this donation, we hope to give more learners access to a world of possibilities as they plan their future careers.\u201d <\/p>\n
Touws River Primary\u2019s Principal, John Anthony expressed the school\u2019s gratitude. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe are truly grateful for LSA\u2019s generosity. These computers will assist us greatly in enhancing the teaching and learning experience we provide to our learners as they prepare to participate in this ever-changing digital world.\u201d<\/p>\n
The event was also attended by Touws River\u2019s Town Manager, Neville Fourie, who thanked LSA for partnering with the school. <\/p>\n
\u201cOn behalf of the community I would like to thank LSA for the donation, we trust this is the beginning of a fruitful partnership between the school and the company,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The school\u2019s Grade 7 learners had an opportunity to spend the day with 80 members of the company\u2019s senior leadership team where they participated in fun and educational quizzes, as well as career guidance to give them access to information about the corporate world and more specifically the local dairy industry. <\/p>\n
Lactalis GM Alban Damour said the computer donation was not a once-off. <\/p>\n
