Worcester is once again in the spotlight, after members of the Anti-Gang Unit (AGU) discovered six uncut diamonds in a man\u2019s possession.<\/p>\n
This is the second incident in which diamonds were discovered. In the previous one a man was arrested after being apprehended while travelling in High Street in a taxi, allegedly on his way to a deal. <\/p>\n
In the latest incident, Daniel Pinehas (50) appeared in the Worcester Magistrates\u2019 Court on charges of possession of unpolished diamonds on Monday (1 August). This followed a tip-off given to the AGU last Thursday.<\/p>\n
The unit received information about a suspicious-looking red Toyota Corolla in the Mountain Mill Mall parking lot.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe members asked the suspects to climb out of the car and asked permission to search them,\u201d said WO Vathiswa Jacobs, spokesperson for Worcester police.<\/p>\n
The AGU then found one diamond in the accused\u2019s trouser pocket and, on searching further, they also found five diamonds in his right pocket, wrapped in toilet paper.<\/p>\n
He was the arrested and charged with the possession of unpolished diamonds. <\/p>\n
He will appear again in the Worcester Magistrates\u2019 Court on Monday (8 August).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
