Worcester police are seeking the help of the community in locating a suspect connected to a rape that took place over the weekend.<\/p>\n
On Saturday 1 October a 16-year-old girl was attacked by a man when walking behind the Eden School at 08:45. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe victim was walking behind the Eden School when un unknown coloured male approached her and suddenly grabbed her and pulled her to the back of the school,\u201d WO Vathiswa Jacobs, spokesperson for the Worcester police, explained.<\/p>\n
The victim started screaming for help. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe suspect then started stabbing her with a knife. He forced her into bushes and brutally raped her three times, penetrating various parts of her body.\u201d <\/p>\n
The victim was stabbed 14 times in various parts of her body, including her neck and arms. After raping her, her attacker robbed her of earrings and cigarettes. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe suspect then ran off in the direction of Florian Park,\u201d Jacobs related. <\/p>\n
A reliable source told Standard<\/i> the suspect wore a grey top with zip, blue jeans and tekkies at the time of the incident. <\/p>\n
They said the victim was found by members of the public and was admitted to hospital, and has since been discharged.<\/p>\n
The suspect will face three counts of the contravention of Section 3 of Act 32 of 2007, which is rape, as well as a charge of robbery with aggravated circumstances and attempted murder. <\/p>\n
