On 20 October Worcester\u2019s cricket academy\u2019s indoor cricket teams took part in the finals of the A3 League as well as their first-ever business league. <\/p>\n
The business league comprised seven businesses in Worcester, which played 12 round robin games, a semi- final, bronze final and final over three months. <\/p>\n
At the end of the round robin games indoor cricket team had Victoria & Albert (V&A Spartans), Golden Valley Casino (GVC), Breeriviervallei Bottelering (BBK Warriors) and Breede Valley Municipality (BVM Strikers).<\/p>\n
The bronze medal game was played between BBK Warriors and BVM Strikers, with BBK Warriors taking the crown and securing the bronze medal.<\/p>\n
The A4 Business League final saw V&A Spartans and GVC playing for gold, with V&A Spartans that won.<\/p>\n
The A3 bronze medal game was played the day before between Klub Trap and Nedbank, where Nebank claimed victory.<\/p>\n
Shortly after the A4 final, the A3 final followed between Brandwaght and Dream Team. The final was closely contested between two very good sides and saw Dream Team wining gold.<\/p>\n
Then 21 October saw yet another memorable night of indoor cricket on display at the Worcester Cricket Academy, with two finals taking place. <\/p>\n
The A2 final was an unbelievably close encounter between the Punishers and Unknowns 2, where the Punishers won. <\/p>\n
The bronze medal game was played between GVC and Beat Warriors, with the GVC winning the game, and securing a bronze medal.<\/p>\n
The focus then shifted to the A1 final between Ball Crew and Die Ballies. <\/p>\n
Ball Crew won the toss and sent the Ballies in to bat first. Die Ballies scored 86 in their innings which in our previous finals would seem to be a reasonably competitive score. Ball Crew strated slowly with the bat as Ballies capitalised on some indecisiveness. <\/p>\n
However, Ball Crew came back nicely in their pursuit of the total. Needing 20 odd from the final skin the Die Ballies dug in to their experience in defence of their total and claimed gold.<\/p>\n
The finals was unbelievable, and the vibe in the arena throughout all four finals was electrifying. <\/p>\n
The quality of cricket has certainly improved and this is evident with the amount of players we have representing Boland indoor cricket and various South African indoor cricket sides.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
