The Cape Winelands District Municipality\u2019s council has unanimously voted for the re-appointment of Henry Prins as municipal manager, the municipality announced in a statement. <\/p>\n
With almost 30 years of municipal management experience, Prins is a committed and seasoned local government practitioner. <\/p>\n
Prins\u2019s managerial career kicked off in 2009 where he has achieved 11 consecutive clean audits, and also experienced the transformation of two municipalities into the democratic system since 2000.<\/p>\n
These experiences serves as evidence of his expertise across diverse disciplines, which assist in the provision of strategic leadership in complex environments. Along with being committed to ethical leadership values, the municipal manager\u2019s focus is on sustainable results, financial excellence and institutional growth while developing human capital. <\/p>\n
Prins holds an undergraduate qualification in human resources management and a master\u2019s degree in public administration from the University of Stellenbosch. He is also registered as a professional municipal manager with the Institute of Local Government Management (LGM).<\/p>\n
\u201cDuring my last term, even when excluding the Covid-19 pandemic, the Cape Winelands District Municipality\u2019s council faced several challenges,\u201d says Prins.<\/p>\n
\u201cHowever, again and again my colleagues together with the Executive Mayor, Elna von Schlicht and Cape Winelands District Municipality\u2019s council, worked together to continue running a municipality that delivers on its mandates, supports the vulnerable and remains relevant in these stormy times,\u201d Prins says.<\/p>\n
