Diana Ferrus is vanjaar by die 13de KykNET-fi\u00ebstas vir haar lewensbydrae tot die kunste vereer. <\/p>\n<p>Ferrus is op 9 Maart in Kaapstad met hierdie besondere prestasie vereer. <\/p>\n<p>Ferrus, \u2019n boorling van Worcester, het in 1972 gematrikuleer en is na die Universiteit van Wes-Kaapland, maar politieke onrus het haar studies onderbreek en as gevolg van finansi\u00eble beperkings het sy gaan werk. In 1988 het sy weer deeltyds begin studeer en 1991 by UWK by die departement van bedryfsielkunde begin werk. <\/p>\n<p>Sy het haar graad twee jaar later behaal en ook \u2019n honneursgraad in vroue- en genderstudies in 1997 voltooi. Die Universiteit Stellenbosch het \u2019n ere-doktorsgraad in 2022 aan haar toegeken. <\/p>\n<p>Ferrus het op veertien begin gedigte skryf en haar gedig \u201cI\u2019ve come to take you home\u201d, wat sy geskryf het terwyl sy in 1998 aan die Utrecht Universiteit in Nederland studeer het, was een van die deurslaggewende redes waarom Saartjie Baartman se oorskot n\u00e1 192 jaar in Frankryk na Suid-Afrika teruggestuur is. <\/p>\n<p>Haar gedigte en kortverhale is in verskeie bundels gepubliseer, en sy is onder meer \u2019n stigterslid van die Afrikaanse Skrywersvereniging, Bush Poets en Mengelmoes Digters. Sy is ook in 2020 deur die SBA in haar geboortedorp vir haar bydrae tot die bemagtiging van Afrikaans vereer. Sy het in 2016 afgetree, maar fasiliteer steeds skryfwerksessies en tree as spreker op. <\/p>\n<p>Dawid Minaar, Cintaine Schutte, Lynelle Kenned, Irshaad Ally en Nicola Hanekom het die eerbewyse vanjaar oorhandig.<\/p>\n<p>Ferrus het op haar beurt ges\u00ea sy is \u201cvreeslik dankbaar\u201d vir die verering en het melding gemaak van die mense wat al op haar pad gekom en haar ge\u00efnspireer het.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Die skrywer, digter, aktivis en Worcesteriet dr.
