Zwelethemba native, Nande Mabala (25), was crowned second princess in the Miss South Africa competition on Sunday 13 August.<\/p>\n
She spent part of her childhood growing up in Zwelethemba.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s where the people who raised me come from, and with that I mean my community,\u201d she previously said to Standard<\/i> (Miss SA hopeful is a proud Zwellie, Thursday 15 June 2023). <\/p>\n
It was her second time entering the competition after not making the selection in 2020. She however took that as an opportunity to better herself and her chances. <\/p>\n
\u201cI still wanted to come back and use this platform to empower people in my community and young women in South Africa as a whole.\u201d <\/p>\n
