Nkqubela currently has only one entrance available, from Voortrekker Street, Robertson. Due to the high volume of traffic that uses this intersection it\u2019s become necessary to add a second entrance to the area, this time from the R317. <\/p>\n
This is expected to ease traffic volumes. The project, which includes the addition of a traffic circle, will make it safer and more convenient to get to and from Nkqubela, improving traffic flow.<\/p>\n
The design of this new circular intersection is very similar to the one already in Voortrekker Street. The size of the circle has been carefully designed to accommodate heavy vehicles and for peak traffic flow with minimal delay. To enhance safety, the circle will be lit up at night to help drivers navigate around it.<\/p>\n
The cost of the project is R9 016 589 and is funded by National Treasury\u2019s Neighbourhood Development Partnership Grant (NDPG). The primary focus of the NDPG is to stimulate and accelerate investment in poor, underserved residential neighbourhoods by providing technical assistance and capital-grant financing for municipal projects that have either a distinct private-sector element or an intention to achieve this.<\/p>\n
The construction of the circle is set to be finished by the end of October 2023. As there is currently construction on the R317, all drivers are asked to adhere to the speed limits and drive cautiously.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
