ZWELETHEMBA – Worcester United Football Club (WUFC) will be the third team in the Breede Valley to compete at SAFA regional league in the Cape Winelands. The club will be joining the likes of Worcester Spurs and View of Hope (VOH) next season of the SAFA Men\u2019s Regional League (MRL), which is set to wrap up in a few months.<\/p>\n
United who played promo league this season officially announced that they bought status making them move to the top-flight regional league at the club\u2019s inaugural award ceremony hosted at the Golden Valley Casino on 1 June, Saturday evening. the event aimed to recognise players for their efforts this season, and also get to meet the parents of the players<\/p>\n
Anele Hlazo, former manager of gospel singer Lundi Tyamara and current WUFC chairman, confirmed the purchase of the Robertson side Try Again Football Club (TAFC) status \u201cthe deal is done, Worcester united is going to SAB next season; this is official\u201d. <\/p>\n
Head coach Oscar Mlanjeni further stated: \u201cThe players put a lot of effort in this season, I believe they can do it, and we have already started preparations for next season.\u201d<\/p>\n
As part of their preparation timetable for the upcoming season, the club is on a mission to creating a squad for promotion to the third tier of South African football, the ABC Motsepe League in the 2025-\u201926 season. \u201cWe have already started preparing for next season, our coaches are all over the Boland region trying to find our players to strengthen the squad for next season. <\/p>\n
\u201cI have supported talent from Zwelethemba in almost every industry, from gospel to hip-hop and now soccer as long its talent from Zwelethemba I will continue to support it until it makes it to PSL and beyond\u201d emphasised Anele. Parents thanked the teams executive for noticing, nurturing talent and taking their kids of the streets.\u201d <\/p>\n
Team captain Aviwe Tsololo praised the club\u2019s management for their efforts and sterling leadership to push the team to perform at its optimal best to produce positive results. He said:\u201d\u201cWe are very thankful to have such a great management team; we appreciate its efforts to ensure that we perform at our optimal best to deliver good results. We promise to do our best next season in the MRL.\u201d<\/p>\n
