In an inspiring celebration of creativity and environmental consciousness, Winelands Primary School\u2019s Eco-Club hosted a sustainable fashion show on Monday. The event featured an array of stunning outfits crafted entirely from recyclable materials, demonstrating the learners\u2019 creativity and commitment to sustainability.<\/p>\n
The fashion show highlighted the talent and creativity of learners from Grade 1 to Grade 7, each presenting unique themes through their eco-friendly attire. <\/p>\n
The young models walked the runway with confidence and flair, showcasing designs that ranged from everyday wear to inventive pieces, all made from materials such as paper, plastic, and repurposed fabrics.<\/p>\n
The highlight of the evening was the presence of guest judge Lara Klawikowski, an acclaimed South African fashion designer known for her innovative approach to sustainable fashion. Also an alumna of Worcester Gymnasium, she provided valuable insights into sustainable fashion. Klawikowski praised the learners\u2019 efforts and emphasised the importance of sustainability in the fashion industry.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am truly impressed by the creativity and resourcefulness displayed by these young designers, they are so cute,\u201d she remarked. \u201cSuch events encourage a new generation to think critically about their impact on the environment and find innovative solutions.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Eco-Club\u2019s fashion show aimed to raise awareness of environmental issues and promote the practice of recycling and upcycling. <\/p>\n
By transforming everyday waste materials into wearable art the students demonstrated how sustainability can be both fun and fashionable.<\/p>\n
Parents, teachers and community members gathered to support the event, applauding the students\u2019 efforts and enjoying the vibrant display of creativity. <\/p>\n
Winelands Primary School\u2019s Eco-Club continues to be a leader in promoting green initiatives, inspiring both students and the community to adopt more sustainable lifestyles. <\/p>\n
In first place, the winners were Aasiya Stephanus Grade 6E2 Second place Alizwa Poni Grade 7E3<\/p>\n
In third place was Denucia Fredericks 5A1<\/p>\n
Special prizes were won by Kelarona Smouse 2E3 & Cayden Brandt Gr 6E2. <\/p>\n
