{"id":44689,"date":"2024-09-20T06:02:20","date_gmt":"2024-09-20T04:02:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/worcesterstandard\/nuwe-poesie-prys-sal-streekstaal-bevorder-20240918-2\/"},"modified":"2024-09-20T06:02:20","modified_gmt":"2024-09-20T04:02:20","slug":"nuwe-poesie-prys-sal-streekstaal-bevorder-20240918-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/worcesterstandard\/nuwe-poesie-prys-sal-streekstaal-bevorder-20240918-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Nuwe po\u00ebsie-prys sal streekstaal bevorder"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Afrikaanse digters van alle agtergronde en dialekte kry nou die kans om hul stem te laat hoor.<\/p>\n<p>\u2019n Po\u00ebsieprys, die Diana Ferrus-prys, wat na di\u00e9 Worcesterse skrywer en aktivis vernoem is, bied skrywers die geleentheid om in hul eie vari\u00ebteit van Afrikaans te dig \u2013 of dit nou Nama-Afrikaans, Kaaps, Khoe-Afrikaans of enige ander vari\u00ebteit is. <\/p>\n<p>Die prys is \u2019n baanbreker-inisiatief waarmee gepoog word om die ryk diversiteit van die Afrikaanse taal te bevorder en dialekte wat dikwels misgekyk word, op die voorgrond te plaas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDit is regtig \u2019n groot eer, en die feit dat deelnemers \u2019n platform sal h\u00ea om hul werk voor te l\u00ea met hoop, kan net die veld van Afrikaanse skryfwerk vergroot en nuwe stemme na vore bring,\u201d s\u00ea Ferrus.<\/p>\n<p>Volgens Zalman Davis, die stigter van die prys, is dit \u2019n geleentheid vir Afrikaanse digters om hul stem te laat hoor in die taal waarmee hulle grootgeword het.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOns wil h\u00ea digters moet skryf in hul ma se Afrikaans \u2013 die Afrikaans van hul huis, hul gemeenskap en hul identiteit,\u201d s\u00ea Davis. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHierdie prys gee erkenning aan die unieke klanke, ritmes en uitdrukkings van verskillende streke \u2013 van die klikke van Nama-Afrikaans tot die melodie van Kaaps.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Deelnemers kan tot drie gedigte inskryf; elk met \u2019n maksimum van 24 versre\u00ebls.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDit gaan nie net oor die lengte van die gedig nie, maar oor hoe digters hul Afrikaans gebruik om hul w\u00eareld uit te druk. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cOns soek na die ware, rou en eerlike weergawe van hul Afrikaans,\u201d s\u00ea Davis.<\/p>\n<p>Die beoordelaars sluit bekende figure in die Afrikaanse po\u00ebsiew\u00eareld in, soos Churchil Naud\u00e9, Hakkiesdraad Hartman, Ryan Pedro en Shirmoney Rhode. Die digters werk in verskillende vorme en dialekte van Afrikaans en die beoordelaars is opgewonde oor die geleentheid om nuwe, vars stemme te ontdek.<\/p>\n<p>Die Diana Ferrus-prys skep \u2019n ruimte waarin digters hul uniekheid kan vier en gesien en waardeer kan word.<\/p>\n<p>Inskrywings het op Ferrus se 71ste verjaardag \u2013 29 Augustus \u2013 geopen en sluit op 5 Januarie aanstaande jaar.
