The table is set for the grand finale of the Zwelethemba Library in Worcester’s annual Reading Competition.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Participants showed passion, talent and dedication during the preliminary rounds on Friday 29 August after which the Top 30 achievers were chosen.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This competition is held in collaboration with the Give Hope Foundation. The learners not only showed their reading ability, but also their comprehension, interpretation, and love for literature. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\nEleven learners from PJB Cona Primary School will compete for the crown of Reading Champion 2025.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
The panel of judges praised the high standard of performances, noting the confidence and creativity displayed by the contestants.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eleven learners from PJB Cona Primary School, twelve learners from Alfred Stamper Primary School and seven learners from Siyafuneka Primary School are through to the finals that will be held on Friday 5 September to compete for the title of Reading Champion 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The top achievers will take home great prizes, with the top three learners each awarded a tablet, while ten others will receive backpacks. All the participants will receive certificates of participation.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“This competition is more than just about reading aloud \u2013 it’s about nurturing a culture of learning, building confidence, and inspiring young people to embrace the power of words,” said Rosey Matshikiza.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
