A happy class of 30 craft entrepreneurs from across the Breede Valley Worcester, recently attended a workshop on developing new “Products of Place” for local and tourist markets. The workshop, part of a series of in-person and online courses on business and market development, is being facilitated by the Cape Town based Craft and Design Institute (see www.theCDI.org.za for more info). Coordinated by the Breede Valley’s Skills Incubator Project in conjunction with Worcester and Breede Valley Tourism, the programme will enable existing crafters to expand their sales market, create further employment, and contribute to the region’s local economy.
