{"id":48207,"date":"2024-02-12T06:00:53","date_gmt":"2024-02-12T04:00:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/weslander\/two-awards-for-excellence-go-to-diazville-high-school-20240207-2\/"},"modified":"2026-06-18T16:36:46","modified_gmt":"2026-06-18T14:36:46","slug":"two-awards-for-excellence-go-to-diazville-high-school-20240207-2","status":"publish","type":"school_article","link":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/weslander\/school\/two-awards-for-excellence-go-to-diazville-high-school-20240207-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Two awards for excellence go to Diazville High School"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>\n <s1>Honouring the schools and the matric class of 2023, the National Senior Certificate Awards took place on Tuesday 30 January in Cape Town. <\/s1>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the first category, schools were awarded in terms of improvement in pass rate, greatest increase in the percentage of candidates achieving access to Bachelor\u2019s degree studies, improvement and excellence in individual subjects and excellence in academic performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The West Coast\u2019s very own Diazville High School excelled and was awarded as one of the schools who had the greatest increase in the percentage of Bachelor\u2019s passes and outstanding improvement in Afrikaans Home Language. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Paul Haricombe, principal of Diazville High School, said they are particularly delighted and proud of the two awards which they received from the Western Cape Government. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe awards confirm that through hard work, sacrifices and perseverance many things are possible,\u201d said Haricombe. \u201cOur class of 2023 made us particularly proud with the quality of their results, 86 of our 161 candidates got Bachelors passes.
