Avedia Energy is on track with the construction of their liquid petroleum gas (LPG) import and storage facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Their facility is located next to the bridge to the iron ore export terminal in Saldanha, where the first of four massive storage tanks is already being installed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Susan Dean, director of the company, said after the installation of the tanks the second stage of civil and building work will commence. Simultaneously a tender will be placed for the specialised pipe work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She added that the tanks needed to complete the initial phase will be shipped and installed on arrival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is anticipated that the initial phase of the storage facility will be commissioned in the third quarter of 2015. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The capacity of Avedia\u2019s storage facility will be 4 000 megatonne with the completion of phase 1, to be doubled to 8 000 megatonne during phase 2. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dean said no resolution has been reached regarding the offloading of LPG in the port for their facility. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since Avedia\u2019s arrival on the scene, rival Sunrise Energy has been at loggerheads with them regarding this issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
